100% organic cotton & recycled materials
All Hertie School garments are made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton and recycled polyester.
In contrast to conventional cotton, the cultivation of organic cotton does without chemical insecticides, fertilizers and pesticides that are harmful to farmers and the environment. This means that no hazardous or toxic substances are introduced into the soil, nearby rivers or lakes. This ensures a safe environment and health for farmers and their families.
Fair & environmentally friendly working conditions
Hertie School uses garments from STANLEY/STELLA, a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, for its products.
The textiles are manufactured in Bangladesh. The factories are among the most responsible factories in the country with the highest ethical standards. By supporting the textile industry in Bangladesh, STANLEY/STELLA contributes to the improvement of economic conditions in the country and the social advancement of the workforce. As an independent organization, the Fair Wear Foundation inspects the factories on site and supports trade unions in constantly improving working conditions.
All producing factories are GOTS certified. The GOTS certificate is the world's leading standard for the processing of fabrics made from organic natural fibers. It defines environmental and social criteria at a high level, which must be complied with along the entire textile production chain.
Local textile printing
Hertie School garments are printed locally in Berlin. The screen printing process guarantees high and durable print quality. OEKO-TEX® certified inks are used for the prints. OEKO-TEX® is an independent product label for all kinds of materials tested for harmful substances. Materials are certified with the OEKO-TEX® label if they have been successfully tested for harmful chemicals based on the OEKO-TEX® criteria catalog.
